Getting Around Sedona

Sedona offers various transportation options to help you explore its natural wonders and local attractions. Plan ahead and use these tips to make your travel experience smoother.

Traffic Tips

  • Peak Hours:

    Traffic is heaviest between 10 AM and 4 PM, especially on weekends and holidays. Plan activities early morning or late afternoon for smoother travel.

  • Y Intersection:

    The intersection of SR 89A and SR 179 (known as the "Y") is a major hub. During peak hours, expect 15-20 minute delays. Consider alternative routes when possible.

  • Alternative Routes:

    Use Dry Creek Road for northern attractions or Verde Valley School Road for southern destinations to bypass downtown congestion.

Parking Guide

  • Uptown Parking:

    The Uptown Municipal Lot offers free parking. Additional public lots available at Jordan Road and Forest Road. Arrive before 9 AM to secure spots.

  • Trailhead Parking:

    Major trailheads fill up by 8 AM. Consider using the Sedona Shuttle service or arrive early. Red Rock Pass required ($5/day) at most locations.

  • Our Property:

    Enjoy complimentary parking for up to 5 vehicles at our vacation home.

Shuttle Services

  • Sedona Shuttle:

    Free service to popular trailheads including Cathedral Rock, Devil's Bridge, and Bell Rock. Operates Thursday through Sunday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

  • Verde Lynx:

    Public transit connecting Sedona and Cottonwood. Perfect for wine trail visits. $2 per ride or $4 day pass.
